The children and youth of Old First are a vibrant part of the faith community and we seek to fully integrate them in the life of the church.
» Church School – Christian Education classes are available for all ages — toddlers through high school — on Sundays from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. Old First follows the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum, an interdenominational curriculum that invites participants to explore meaning and mystery in the Bible, engage in ministries of love, justice, and witness and live in inclusive communities of faith, shaped and led by the Holy Spirit.
» Children’s Choir – Our children’s choir is open to children and youth of all ages and musical skill levels, and rehearses each Sunday morning at 9 am.
» Service Opportunities – Old First children & youth learn the joy and rewards of urban Christian ministry through our community outreach programs, including volunteering in our homeless shelter and serving at our food & clothing cupboard. They raise money each year for hunger programs through the National Souper Bowl collection and through the Hunger Walk.
» Youth Fellowship – Our youth group has regular game nights, movie nights and an annual retreat.
Old First is committed to providing these children and youth with myriad ways to experience and deepen faith and we seek to be open to the Still-Speaking God that moves within them.
