Each Sunday at 11:00 am (10:00 in the summer) Old First gathers for worship. While the church consists of many programs and activities, this is the heart of our community. Our historic sanctuary, built in 1847, provides a beautiful and inspiring setting for worship. Although the service is liturgical in structure, the feeling is warm, intimate and open. Persons of all religious backgrounds are warmly welcomed and often worship at Old First.
Music plays an important role at Old First. Our music director, Ms. Julie Steiner, leads a varied program of vocal and instrumental music which greatly enhances our worship life together. Children are also an important part of the life of Old First — including our worship. While nursery care is provided for all services, children are included in our worship. After the opening part of each service, children are invited to come down and gather on the chancel stairs with the pastor.
So, if it's been a while since you've shared in worship, do come to visit Old First. It's small enough to be friendly, yet large enough to provide a beautiful setting for worship. Our service is very "user friendly" and easy for first-time visitors. And, the sermons are not only "good news," but they are designed to relate to the issues we face in everyday life. Come be refreshed and renewed. You'll be glad that you did!
