Our Open and Affirming Statement
We, the members of Glenside United Church of Christ, honoring the commandment to love one another as we have been loved by Jesus, declare our congregation to be open to and affirming of all persons. We strive to include all, embracing differences of racial and cultural identity, faith background, marital standing, family structure, gender, sexual orientation, mental and physical health and ability, and educational and economic background. With God’s grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit we seek to be a congregation that fully includes and recognizes the gifts of all who follow Jesus Christ. We acknowledge that discrimination of any kind is incompatible with Christ’s example and gospel of unconditional love. We welcome all to share in our ministry and fellowship, life and leadership, and sacraments and responsibilities. We commit to loving and caring for each person in our church family and for our neighbors in God’s world, far and near.
